As I mentioned in this post I am reading the book Style Statement. Simply put this is a workbook that asks you lots of questions about what works for you and what doesn't work for you. At the end you analyze your answers and define yourself in two words. This is your Style Statement. I have been working on this book for two weeks now (in small chunks) and wanted to share with you all some of the questions and my answers.
Either/Or (just a few)
cabin/condo
silver/gold
indoor/outdoor
milk chocolate/dark chocolate
fight/flight
white wine/red wine
gospel/poetry
coffee/tea
tofu/steak (even though I'm not a vegetarian)
handshake/hug
picasso/monet
warrior/magician
When have you been unexpectedly strong? During hard breakups and failed relationships.
When have you been unexpectedly vulnerable? When I found the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. I have never given my heart so fully to another person. Also when I'm alone.
How do you feel in a book store? At home. Inspired. Enriched.
I feel most at home: Wrapped up in a blanket reading, on the yoga mat, in Matt's arms.
My dream home is: Efficient, green (environmentally), not cluttered, full of soft but colorful artwork, comfortable but modern, has some land.
I completely outrageous thing I'd like to own is: A tropical island.
Because: I love the warm water and the sound of the ocean calms my soul.
I looked most fabulous: When I was going to spin class 3 days a week. I was sweating out my stress, building a strong, healthy body and the endorphins shined out of me like the sun. I remember being at peace. And when I met Matthew, I glowed with happiness.
Even though it is completely out of style and over the top, I secretly love: Corsets
Because: They make me think of Marilyn Monroe and the whole pinup era.
What I would love to have made for me: Wedding dress and cowboy boots.
Well those are just a few of the questions the books asks. When I get a few more sections completed I'll post a pt 2 :)
Just for fun, here's mine:
