Sarah & Jesse | Wedding

A few weeks ago I had the chance to assist Brian of Brian Larter Photography at one of his weddings. His girlfriend Karen came along and the three of us had a lot of fun photographing Sarah and Jesse. The wedding was beautiful, the guests were a lot of fun and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. It was originally overcast and then when we got to the ceremony the skys opened and the sun pulled through.

Sarah and Jesse, thank you so much for letting me document your special day and I hope you enjoy the photos :)

Brian, thanks again for letting me tag along. I learnt SO much shooting with you and I can't wait to do it again soon!

And now for the photos :)

Might as well start the bunch with the ever fabulous, amazing Brian Larter!! hehehe.

I absolutely love this photo of Sarah's dad. Brian was photographing the girls and the family was watching. As soon as I turned my camera toward him he looked right at me. I don't think he could have been any happier :)

I have no idea what was so funny but I'm just glad that it was. This shot turned out great :)

Hahaha. I think Karen told them to look off in to space in the direction of the tree.. Somehow this was funny? ;)

First time using a macro and I loved it!! I could shoot details with it all day long.. dummm deee dum.

This was my first time using an off camera flash during the reception and I absolutely love the results. I love the lens flare, the rim of light around the couple, the magical feel it gives. I can't wait to start doing this setup on my own :)

Happy Tuesday!

Artistic Skills

Before I photographed Ashley and Daniel I drew up a bunch of stick figure photos of images I wanted to capture. I showed Ashley and Daniel and from their reaction I am not much of an artist. Take a look :)

Thankfully I'm better at photographing people than I am at drawing them. lol.

Happy Wednesday!

Gemma | Portraits

Gemma and I got together almost two weeks ago for a quick portrait session downtown. I absolutely adore Gemma's style. We work together and she looks good like every single day. If only I could have that kind of fashion sense. Good thing there isn't such thing as the fashion police! Hahaha.

We first went to an old empty high school in Halifax and then to the Halifax Commons. After that we went closer to the water front to get some photos with cool backgrounds.

Even though our session was pretty short I had a ton of fun photographing Gemma and hope it happens again sometime soon :)

She has such a genuine smile, how can you not love it? :)

I want to steal these boots!!

Happy Tuesday!

Jessica & Harrison | Prom

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing my sister all dressed up for prom. I also had the stress of having to do her hair for her. I can barely do my own hair! lol. It turned out how she wanted it to which is all I wanted.

To save money she wore my old prom dress. I have to say she has fabulous taste ;) hehehe.

The height difference between the two of them is just SO cute :) lol

Memory Lane

The other day my mom and I were talking about me when I was little. She told me that ever since I could talk I was building my network. It has finally paid off too. I have been getting a lot of inquiries about my photography and each person I have met through someone else. It makes me love all of my friends so much more :) Hahaha.

I figured since I went down memory lane with Mom I should show you all some photos of me when I was little. And I just got my scanner up and running so I was excited to use it.

This has to be one of my favorite photos of all time. :)

It's cold in Nova Scotia at the end of the October, give me a break! lol

My little sister and I :)

I have always made funny faces in pictures, it's just what I do!

Ashley & Daniel | Engagement

Over the winter I took photos of the ultra-fabulous Ashley. It was the second time working with her and we had such a blast! We laughed and chatted more than we took photos. At the end of the shoot we talked about how she had just recently become engaged and we talked about the possibility of me photographing her engagement session and her wedding. We decided to do a trial run together and do an engagement session this summer and if her and Daniel liked the photos then I would probably end up being the wedding photographer.

A week ago we got together for the exciting engagement session. We went to an apple orchard in the valley called Boates U-Pick. The sun was shining, there were still some apple blossoms on the trees, everything was perfect. I had so much fun photographing Ashley and Daniel. Ashley always has lots of ideas for pictures so we normally just bounce off each other like energizer bunnies. And we made sure it was quick and painless for Daniel. Hahahaha.

Here are the photos, enjoy :)
